The Independence Noland Road Lions Club presented the Missouri Lions Eye Research Foundation (MLERF) with a donation of $2,000.
This generous gift to MLERF will assist in the funding of a variety of projects dedicated to the preservation and restoration of sight.
Programs that benefit from the donation include: Free glaucoma detection screening; free vision screening for Missouri children; free eye care assistance for indigent Missourians; the Eyeglass Recycling program to help less fortunate residents in third world countries; support of ocular research to find causes and cures of eye disease; and the Heartland Lions Eye Bank, which provides the gift of sight to six people each day by providing donated human corneal tissue for transplant.
All of the Foundation’s sight programs are made possible through the support of generous Missourians and Missouri’s Lions Clubs, liked the Independence Noland Road Lions Club.
